What’s happening?
The user reported an issue where they are prompted to make a connection when chatting with the Power Virtual Agents (PVA) bot, which is not the desired behavior.

Reason:
This may be related to how the bot is configured or integrated, particularly concerning data connectors that require proper authorization to access the necessary data.

Resolution:

  1. Check Bot Configuration:
  2. Go to the Settings of your PVA bot.
  3. Navigate to the Channels section and ensure that the bot is correctly configured for the channel you are using (e.g., Microsoft Teams).
  4. Review Authentication Settings:
  5. Ensure that the bot’s authentication settings are correctly configured. Incorrect authentication settings can prompt users to make unnecessary connections.
  6. Update Bot Permissions:
  7. Verify that the bot has the necessary permissions to interact with users without requiring additional connections. This can often be managed through the bot’s security settings or the platform’s admin center.
  8. Check Connections:
  9. Click on the "Connect" button as suggested. This will allow you to review any connections that the topic is trying to use, such as to an external service, API, or Power Automate flow. Ensure all connections are authenticated and active.
  10. Review Permissions:
  11. If the topic uses any connectors that require specific permissions, you may need to grant these permissions. This could include access to certain Microsoft services (e.g., Teams, SharePoint, Azure) or third-party services.
  12. Retry Option:
  13. After ensuring all connections and permissions are properly set, click on the "Retry" button to run the topic again.
  14. Testing Environment:
  15. Consider testing this in a different environment or with a different user account to see if the issue persists. This could help identify if it's related to specific user permissions or environment settings.
If the issue continues even after following these steps, there may be a need to check the specific connectors being used in the new topics and ensure they are configured correctly.
