What’s happening?
The customer is unable to apply new licenses purchased from a new reseller due to existing subscriptions being tied to a previous reseller, which the customer no longer has a contract with.
Reason:
The subscriptions linked to the previous reseller are managed directly by that reseller. The support team does not have the authority to cancel or reconfigure partner associations for the customer's tenant.
Resolution:
- The customer must contact the previous reseller to request the cancellation of the existing subscriptions.
- After the cancellation, the previous reseller needs to delete the customer/partner relationship to restore the customer's management autonomy over their tenant.
- Once the previous subscriptions are canceled, the customer can then apply the new licenses purchased from the new reseller.
