What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing issues with form metadata functionality not rendering as expected, including missing buttons and fields not updating correctly in embedded forms.

Reason:

  • Forms may not be embedded correctly within the webpage, leading to failures in updating contact fields.
  • This may stem from unsupported customizations or known design limitations.

Resolution:
For issues with missing buttons in form metadata:
  1. Ensure that the configuration is done correctly for the entities by referring to the documentation for basic forms and multi-step forms.
  2. Check if the "Override column attributes" setting is correctly configured.
For embedded forms not updating contact fields:
  1. Remove the embedded HTML of the form from the page and insert the form properly using the form design element.
  2. Ensure that the form is of the "Subscription center" type and that the marketing page URL is added to the marketing email, wrapped with tracking.
  3. Use the developer tools to debug the Power Pages site to identify the cause of this.
  4. Run the Site Checker to figure out any configuration issues for the entity form, multi-step form, and quick form.
