What’s happening?
Users are receiving notifications in Microsoft Teams when sharing records from Dynamics 365, and there is a request to disable these notifications either at the user or organization level.
Reason:
The notifications in Microsoft Teams when users share records from Dynamics 365 are a feature resulting from the integration designed to enhance collaboration. When a record is shared, it appears as an interactive card in the Teams chat or channel, and notifications are sent to keep all relevant team members informed.
Resolution:
To disable the Dynamics 365 Teams Notifications, the following steps can be taken:
- PPAC (Admin Center): Use the toggle in the Admin Center to prevent Teams Notifications from triggering within the environment.
- Teams Admin Center: A Teams admin can disable the Dynamics 365 app. If the Dynamics 365 app is disabled in the Teams admin center, the notification attempts will fail, even if the PPAC setting is enabled.
- User Settings in Teams: Individual users can open settings within Teams and choose how the Dynamics 365 app should behave.
