What’s happening?
Users are encountering a banner message stating, "Conditional access isn't enabled correctly. Your admin must fix soon, or your SharePoint integration features may stop working." Additionally, users may receive an error message indicating they do not have permissions to view files in a specific location.
Reason:
The underlying cause of this is related to the application of Conditional Access Policies. In some cases, users may not satisfy external controls required by the policy, leading to interruptions in access. Also, certain applications may not be listed in the Azure portal for applying Conditional Access Policies, which can lead to uncontrolled login sessions.
Resolution:
- For users receiving the banner message, verify that all conditions of the Conditional Access Policy are satisfied, including user group memberships and resource inclusions.
- Ensure that users are prompted to accept any Terms of Use (TOU) policies interactively, as failure to do so may result in access issues.
- If the application is not visible in the Azure portal, confirm that it is a client application and understand that the resource it calls (e.g., Dataverse) can be protected by Conditional Access. Ensure that the necessary permissions are granted within the Dataverse environment.
- If issues persist, review the sign-in logs to confirm that Conditional Access Policies are being applied correctly and that users have the necessary permissions to access the resources.
