What’s happening?

Experiencing an alert labeled "PowerAppsOutOfContext" in the Power Platform Admin Center, indicating a potential license violation related to the use of premium flows outside the context of PowerApps.

Reason:
The alert is triggered when premium flows are utilized without being properly associated with PowerApps, despite having a PowerApps premium license. This can occur due to misconfiguration or misunderstanding of what constitutes being "in the context of PowerApps."

Resolution:

  • Verify that the premium flows are triggered from PowerApps or utilize the same data source as PowerApps to ensure they are considered within the context.
  • Manually associate the flows with PowerApps through the flow's summary screen using the "Add association" feature. Note that this feature may allow unrelated flows to be associated, which does not resolve the "PowerAppsOutOfContext" issue.
  • Ensure that only flows related to PowerApps are associated to avoid potential license violations.
  • Review the documentation on Power Platform licensing and the specific requirements for premium flows to ensure compliance.
