What’s happening?
Customers are unable to create an OAuth connection in Dataflows, receiving an error message indicating invalid credentials.
Reason:
This is related to Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies that block the creation of connections from connectors categorized as 'Blocked'. If the connector is under the 'Blocked' section in a Tenant-Level or Environment-Level DLP, the end-user will not be able to create connections for Dataflows or Power Query use. Recent changes have made DLP policies applicable to Power Platform Dataflows, which previously did not enforce these policies.
Resolution:
- Review the existing Data Loss Prevention policies to ensure that none of the connectors used in the context of Dataflow are currently blocked.
- If a DLP policy excludes 'HTTP with Azure AD' connections, this will impact all existing connections that use this authentication method (e.g., SharePoint, OData). Ensure that the 'HTTP with Azure AD' connector is allowed in DLP policies for these connectors to function properly.
- Alternatively, move the connector to the ‘Business’ or ‘Non-business' group and ensure it is not blocked by the DLP policy in the environment.
