What’s happening?

Users may encounter issues when attempting to uninstall Sales Insights from their production environment or when transferring licenses and data between different domains or tenants.

Reason:

  1. For uninstalling Sales Insights, the underlying cause may be related to the consumption of file storage and the need to manage analytics data associated with the solution.
  2. For license transfer, this arises from the inability to directly transfer licenses between tenants, which may require alternative methods such as environment migration.

Resolution:
Uninstalling Sales Insights:
  1. First, disable any features related to Sales Insights if they are currently in use.
  2. Remove the Sales Insights solution, which is linked to the entity analytics configuration record.
  3. After uninstalling the solution, proceed to delete any associated analytics data from Azure.
  4. It is recommended to perform these actions during off-peak hours to minimize impact on users.
Transferring Licenses and Data:
  1. Direct transfer of licenses between tenants is not possible. Instead, consider the following options:
    1. If you are a Volume Licensing customer, contact the Volume Licensing Service Center for assistance.
    2. Alternatively, cancel the subscription in the current tenant and purchase a new one for the target tenant.
    3. If maintaining the current tenant is preferred, remove the licenses to reduce costs and acquire them in the other tenant.
    4. Another viable solution is to migrate the entire environment, which allows for the movement of users, data, and settings to a new tenant. This process will transition all users to a new domain along with existing data.
  2. For detailed instructions on environment migration, refer to the official documentation on tenant-to-tenant migrations.
