What’s happening?
Customers are requesting an extension for their portal trial period before converting it to production due to delays in development.


Reason:
The trial portal cannot be extended as per the current policies. When a trial portal is nearing expiration, the recommended action is to convert the site to production. However, configurations will remain stored in Dataverse even if the portal expires.


Resolution:

  • Inform the customer that there is no option to extend the trial portal.
  • Advise the customer to create a new portal using the same template, site name, and web address in their sandbox environment. This new portal will be valid for another 30 days.
  • Ensure the customer understands that all portal configurations will remain stored in Dataverse, and they will not lose their development work if they create a new portal.
  • If the customer is unable to create a new portal due to reaching the maximum limit of portals for their environment, escalate this to the Product Team for further assistance.
