What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing issues with restricting access to their sites through Azure Front Door, specifically wanting to limit connections to only those coming from Azure Front Door's backend IP addresses.
Reason:
The underlying cause of this is related to the configuration of IP address restrictions and the use of service tags. It has been noted that Azure Front Door's backend IP addresses may change, and there is a lack of support for service tags in certain configurations.
Resolution:
- Ensure that the site is configured to allow only the backend IP addresses of Azure Front Door. This can be done by explicitly allowing these IP addresses in the Power Pages settings.
- It is important to note that the IP addresses for Azure Front Door can change, so it is recommended to regularly check for updates to the IP address ranges.
