What’s happening?
Users are encountering an error message when attempting to reset their passwords.

Reason:
The error may occur due to the following conditions:
- The user's security role in Dynamics 365 does not have the "Send Email as Another User" privilege.
- The user attempting to send an email on behalf of another user has not enabled the option that allows other users to send an email on their behalf.

Resolution:

  1. Sign in to Dynamics 365 with a user who has the System Administrator role.
  2. Navigate to Settings, then select Security > Security Roles.
  3. Open the security role assigned to the user who receives the error message.
  4. Select the Business Management tab.
  5. Verify that the user has the "Send Email as Another User" privilege.
  6. Sign in to Dynamics 365 as the user you are trying to send an email as.
  7. Select the gear icon in the upper-right corner, then select Options.
  8. Select the Email tab.
  9. Verify that the "Allow other Microsoft Dynamics CRM users to send e-mail on your behalf" option is selected.
  10. Select OK.
If this persists, check the site settings for "Authentication/Registration/ResetPasswordEnabled" and "Authentication/Registration/ResetPasswordRequiresConfirmedEmail" to ensure they exist and are configured correctly.
