What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing errors when attempting to access reporting features and processing specific files in Dynamics 365, including Embedded Power BI reports and bank files.

Reason:

  • This may be related to the configuration of the data source in Power BI, specifically if it does not point to the correct database or if it cannot access the required tables.
  • Errors may also arise from batch job failures due to issues with SSRS reports or custom code that affects the processing of files.

Resolution:

  • For issues with Embedded Power BI reports, ensure that the data source is correctly configured to point to the right database and that it can access the required tables, such as 'Workforce_CurrentPosition'. If an error indicates an invalid object name, refresh the entity store associated with that report.
  • If encountering errors while processing bank files, verify if there are any customizations involved that could be affecting the import process.
  • In cases of batch job failures, check for any SSRS report issues and consider working with the relevant teams to address any custom code that may be causing the problem.
  • If the issue persists, request the customer to provide environment details and reproduction steps to facilitate further investigation. If the customer is unresponsive, consider closing the case temporarily.
