What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing errors when attempting to perform reconciliation tasks, specifically when using the Modern Reconciliation feature. The error messages include “String or binary data would be truncated”, which prevent the successful generation of reconciliation reports.
 

Reason:
The error "String or binary data would be truncated" occurs due to a string size difference between the source and target tables involved in the reconciliation process.
 

Resolution:
For the "String or binary data would be truncated" error, follow these steps in UAT environment refreshed with production data base:
 

  1. Ensure that the environment is updated to at least version 10.0.41 or higher, as the issue has been resolved in these versions.
  2. Disable the flight 'RemoveLoadReconciliationWorksheetExtensibleFlight' 
  3. Set the 'Turn off reconciliation worksheet performance enhancements' parameter in Cash and bank management parameters> Bank reconciliation tab to Yes'.
  4. Restart the relevant services after making these changes.
