What’s happening?
When personnel are added under project details, they appear in the "assign resource" view. However, when personnel are added or removed directly in the "assign resource" view, these changes are not reflected in the project details.
Reason:
"Project Validation Resource Assignment" when clicking on Assign resource option from Project details page and "Project Team and Scheduling" from Project details page are two distinct functionalities. "Project Validation Resource Assignment" is used to record the project resource validation checklist, while "Project Team and Scheduling" is used for assigning resources to project plans. Resources assigned through "Project Team and Scheduling" are automatically added and updated in the "Project Validation Resource Assignment" list. However, adjustments made directly within "Project Validation Resource Assignment" do not update other registered project records to maintain the integrity of project records.
Resolution:
To ensure data integrity and consistency, understand and follow these guidelines:
- Resources assigned through "Project Team and Scheduling" tab in Project details will automatically be added and updated in the "Project Validation Resource Assignment" list.
- Adjustments made directly within "Project Validation Resource Assignment" will not propagate to other project records already registered.
- Therefore, to reflect resource changes consistently across project records, always perform resource assignments and modifications through the "Project Team and Scheduling" functionality rather than directly editing the "Project Validation Resource Assignment" records.
