What’s happening?
The customer is experiencing issues with Dataverse storage capacity, specifically exceeding the 3 GB limit in a predefined environment, leading to insufficient storage for operations.

Reason:
The underlying cause of this is that the customer has exceeded the allocated storage capacity of 3 GB in a predefined environment, while the Dataverse storage limit is set at 1 TB.

Resolution:

  1. Sign in to the Power Platform admin center.
  2. In the navigation pane, select Resources > Capacity.
  3. If running low on storage capacity, a banner will appear indicating the status.
  4. In the banner at the top of the page, select "Enable capacity extension."
  5. Note that the extension is at the tenant level and can be requested a maximum of three times over a period of 365 days.
  6. The extension link will be visible for paid customers only when in overage and the number of extensions has not been exceeded.
  7. The extension applies to both legacy and new storage capacity models and allows for the creation of environments and copying/restoring environments for a maximum of 30 days while over the capacity limit.
  8. After the one-time extension, copying and restoring environments will again be blocked if the tenant does not have available storage capacity.
