What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing issues with SVG elements not rendering properly in HTML controls after a recent update to the Power Apps Analysis Engine. This results in SVG elements appearing as blank circles instead of the intended layered buttons.

Reason:
This is caused by a bug fix in the latest update that deprecated the functionality of SVG elements within HTML controls. This behavior was not intended, as SVG elements were not documented as supported in HTML controls. The previous functionality was due to an unexpected implementation.

Resolution:

  • As a temporary workaround, it is recommended to use image controls instead of HTML controls for displaying SVG elements. This approach effectively resolves the rendering issue and aligns with the intended design.
  • The product team is considering implementing support for SVG elements in HTML controls as part of a future product feature. However, there is currently no estimated time of arrival (ETA) for this feature due to existing roadblocks.
  • Customers are encouraged to discuss the feasibility of using image controls with their internal teams and to inform support of any challenges or additional concerns.
