With the Q2 2011 release of Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 rapidly approaching, you may already be wondering if it’s time to upgrade or switch to the new version. While nobody can make that decision for you, here are some of the features that Microsoft is touting with the new version to help youwork productively, drive business value and insight, and connect your business.
To help you work more productively, Microsoft is streamlining the interface of Dynamics SL. Activity panes, role-based menus, and enhanced search features are designed to get you to the data you want to see as quickly as possible. Navigating through that data will be easier too – Microsoft is crafting the interface of Dynamics SL to behave like Outlook, Excel, and Word, so now you won’t have to switch mental modes when you step outside of the Office Suite. One of the biggest features is that you’ll be able to open multiple companies in a single session, eliminating the cumbersome task of closing all your windows and logging out just to switch companies.
Real-time access to data and flexible tools have been crafted to enrich your business value and increase your insight as well. Over fifty predefined views come with Dynamics SL 2011, allowing you to pull up filtered views of your data without spending a bunch of time making sense of the information you see. On top of this, you can create your own custom views with custom or standard tables so you can track whatever metrics you can dream of instantly. And with web-based access, you don’t need to be in the office to investigate a flash of inspiration or nagging feeling.
Lastly, Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 will boast a level of connectivity not yet seen in an SL product. Dynamics SL 2011 can be integrated with Microsoft Project Server 2010, Microsoft SharePoint Server, Office 2010, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and Dynamics CRM. This will allow your business to store information, share documents and data, and collaborate efficiently.
All that and, believe it or not, that’s barely scratching the surface. Microsoft is pulling out all the stops to make sure that Dynamics SL 2011 is the definitive ERP tool for your business. If you haven’t yet, check out the opportunities on the horizon.
