Save Filtered Views as Personal Views

Being able to apply filters to views is a great feature in Dynamics CRM. What most users may not realize is that you can save these filters as personal views and don’t need to apply the same filter each time.

Go to the chosen view and apply a filter by using the filter icon and go to the column or columns you want to filter on.

In this example:

Status Reason = Contacted

And

City = Miami

Once you are done with the filters, and yes, multiple filters can be applied to a view, click on the chevron next to view and select Save Filter as New View.

A new window opens where you can name and save the filtered view. Give it a descriptive name and save. This is now a Personal View that you can share with others. It is not a System View that is available to other users in the system.

If you need to see this view again find it in the (personal) my views section.

Creating a Personal View is a better option then clicking on the … then selecting Save Filters to Current System View. This saves the changes to the System View and can be confusing due to the name of the view etc.
