I recently received a call from a Sage developer looking for advice on whether they should interface their third-party product to Microsoft Dynamics® GP . A very hopeful fellow explained that their product provides email notifications about important transactions, including invoices and purchase orders needing approval, or customers who had past due amounts. His product included important information about the transaction, customer, or vendor right in the email.
He asked “Do you think our product and company could survive competition from other Microsoft developers and add strong functionality to Microsoft Dynamics GP?” I have to tell you that while he was explaining his product I started to grin from ear to ear. Then I asked if he wanted the PC answer or the honest answer. I had to have a little fun! He, of course, stated, “Oh, definitely, the honest answer.”
“Bad news my friend! The functionality you speak of is wide-spread throughout Microsoft Dynamics GP and has been for a long time. The functionality around email integration in the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 release will, however, knock your socks off!”
Here are just a few “knock your socks off” facts about Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 Email Integration:
- Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 Email Integration allows users to quickly and easily e-mail single documents, batches of documents, and/or multiple documents from a list within the system. The user can select which documents they would like to send and also select which customers/vendors should receive their documents in e-mail.
- Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 Email Integration allows documents to be sent as an HTML, XPS, PDF, or DOCX attachment.
- Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 Email Integration allows customized messaging for each document and customer/vendor combination.
- Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 Email Integration can combine multiple documents and send in a single e-mail.
