Security Audit - Timestamp and User tracking of published security configuration adjustments

Chris Segurado Profile Picture Chris Segurado 612

In case of a security audit, we would like to proof that our custom security roles are compliant with requirements. In terms of OTB reports for security configuration adjustments, we only have the 4 below OTB - None of them help in that regard.

Manual security configurations adjustments via UI need to be published after creation. You can find an audit trail per role/duty/privilege following the below navigation path - Audit trail per custom role/duty/privilege under audit trail on security configurations form in Sysadmin:

Result – timestamp, user and event (who published = who adjusted security roles and made them active).

Additionally, you can find/analyze all audit data for all changes under Actionpane/audit data on security configurations form in Sysadmin.

Result – timestamp, user and event (who published = who adjusted security roles and made them active).

“Compare permissions” on the Actionpane allows you to figure out the delta of adjustments from prior to new version. (e.g. in a scenario where new privileges where added to an existing role)

Excel extracts are possible – VLookups in Excel can be ran to identify delta.
