Hi there! I had a super busy week & weekend. I am not sure how much coffee I had during the past week. Especially in COVID when everything is virtual, and people are booking meetings like crazy. To match everyone’s time is a pain and most of the team are double booked.
Anyway, moving along, we saw the different email templates present in Click Dimensions in my earlier blog last Monday.
Let’s move ahead & create an Email send record quickly. Navigate to Click Dimensions > Email Marketing > Emails

You will land in ‘My Drafts’ default view. Click New to create a new email send record.
Add an existing template & save the record. Notice any changes in the record?
As soon as the email template is added, the Subject was populated from the Email Template. It also picked up the Editor Type you used to create the template.
Since the email is not yet gone to customers, the status is ‘Draft’ & also date-time is blank for the ‘Sent On’ field.

Scrolling down you will see the ‘From’ section.
From Record Owner – This is a Boolean flag where you need to confirm if the From field could use an end-user email who is creating this record. I have selected No & populated my details here (that email address is wrong though)
From User – Use this section if you want the From field to be populated with one of the existing users from your Active Users list in your Dynamics 365 environment.

From Name – Alternatively, you can type a name which needs to be used to send this email
From Email – Type the email address to be used while sending the email.
Reply to Email Address – This is a cool feature where all your email replies will go to this user’s mailbox. Could you a service desk email also as per requirement, who is monitoring that mailbox to answer your customer queries or re-direct it to any specific agent.

Next section is Delivery where you decide when this email needs to be sent.
Send Immediately – This is a Boolean flag. If you select as No, you need to then provide a date-time in the Send On field otherwise, it will be ready to go immediately.
By default, this option is Yes.
Test Emails – This is also one of the cool features where you can see the email in your mailbox without sending it to end-users. Use the ‘Test’ button on ribbon
to send test emails.

Now you will attach the marketing list and suppressed marketing lists.
Suppressed marketing list – is a marketing list that has those customers who should not receive this email. It’s an optional section. It may or may not contain your unsubscribed customer lists. Even if by mistake you have added customers in the marketing list who are part of the suppressed list, they will not receive the email.
Once you are ready, click on the ‘Send’ button
on the ribbon. It will ask for approvals now. Approve it & send it.
It will be submitted to Click Dimensions now for delivery & the record status will become ‘Inactive’
