Today, I will add on to my post from last month where I introduced you to Dynamics 365, its key features and benefits. In this blog post, and the two following, I will show you how Dynamics 365 can make the jobs of people in various roles much easier. The first role I will focus on is an accountant/finance manager. Then, my subsequent blogs will cover executives and IT professionals, respectively.
With that housekeeping out of the way, let’s take a look at how Dynamics 365, specifically the Finance and Operations app can help someone working in an accounting or finance role reach their goals. For the sake of argument, and to keep this post from getting too long, I will focus on two goals I think everyone who works in the finance or accounting departments can relate to.
Goal #1 Reduce Costs
Ways Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations can help:
- Use predictive insights and real-time data to help you make smart choices. With the multiple reporting tools offered by Dynamics 365, it’s easy to get the hard data you need to back up your decisions. Gone are the days where you must choose mainly on gut feel.
- Reduce reporting and data entry errors. Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations automatically manages your assets.
- If you happen to be in the manufacturing industry, Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations can help you reduce waste and create your ideal manufacturing mix. Also, it can help you speed up the manufacturing process, so you can get paid faster.
- Find and address quality problems before they become an expensive customer service nightmare that is a drain on your staff’s productivity.
- Shorten the sales cycle, go from lead to sale much quicker. Thanks to direct integration between the Dynamics 365 Sales and Finance and Operations apps.
- Comply with industry regulations out-of-the-box. In most cases there is no need for additional software or expensive customizations.
- Dynamics 365 is cloud-based, so, you can stop worrying about the cost of buying and maintaining your own servers.
- Dynamics 365 is flexible enough to integrate with other systems, so you can make the most of your current investments. Particularly, if you are already using Microsoft Office 365, Dynamics 365 plugs right in. That way, you can avoid the time-consuming and error-prone task of duplicate data entry.
Goal #2: Increase Productivity
Ways Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations can help:
- Dynamics 365 mimics the look and feel of the Microsoft Office programs you and your staff are already familiar with. That way, you can get up and running quickly and spend less time training employees to use the system.
- Make well informed decisions faster than ever before. Its powerful built-in analytics tools reduce the time needed to create reports. So instead, you can focus on analysis and moving the business forward.
- Dynamics 365’s, workflow and automation tools allow you to automate common tasks. So you can spend less time on data entry and focus on the more important items on your to do list.
