How to: Install AX 2012 – Part II

2. On the Select installation type page, click Custom installation , and then click Next.
3. On the Select components page, select Client, and then click Validate.
Note: I have choose to install the Database, Client, Debugger and .NET Business Connector.
4. On the Prerequisite validation results page, resolve any errors. For more information about how to resolve prerequisite errors, see Check prerequisites. When no errors remain, click Next.
5. If you are installing on a 64-bit operating system, the Select a file location page is displayed.
7. This case I have chosen to create a new database. Now, provide database names or accept the default database names.
By default, the transaction database is named MicrosoftDynamicsAX. The baseline database is optional. By default, the baseline database is named MicrosoftDynamicsAX_baseline.
8. On the Select client preferences page, select the display language that is used in the client, and epecify whether you want Setup to create a desktop shortcut for the client.
09. If you install the client at the same time as an AOS instance, it will not ask to Specify a location for configuration settings, and configuration settings are saved in the registry automatically.
10. If you are configuring AOS for the first time it will ask you to specify a user, this user will be used by Dynamics to connect to the SQL Server.
11. On the Connect to an AOS instance page, enter the name of the computer that runs the AOS instance that you want to connect to.
12. Choose the additional models you wish to install.
Note: Mark Foundation Upgrade if you are upgrading AX from a previous version(4.0, 2009).
13. On the Prerequisite validation results page, resolve any errors. When no errors remain, click Next.
14. On the Ready to install page, click Install.
15. After the installation is completed, click Finish to close the wizard.
