Voucher Template Functionality or How to Deal with Repeating Journal Entries

The easiest way to deal with repeating journal entries if you or your client isn’t going to use any upload tool that can execute Excel files, is to use the build in standard AX functionality.

In the Journal form on the line level, under functions; you will find the two menu items that will allow you do deal with it fairly simple.

The first step is to set up your journal and put in all journal lines. Once that is completed, navigate to the top menu — Functions and save the voucher.

That action will open a new form where you can specify if you want to save that template as a percent or amount type of template.

The percent type will remember the percentage in the relation between the lines and will apply the same distribution for the next template. AX will open a small window and ask for the amount for the new journal. It applies that to the first line in the voucher.

The amount type will not utilize this functionality and will let you over type the amount in each line.
