ReportSecurity is crucial for many businesses, but it can be challenging to know where to start. For those of you considering the design of your Power Platform solution, this blog post is for you! Here are five steps we recommend taking upfront to ensure that your security requirements are met and maintained throughout the lifespan of your platform.
Step 1: Identify which departments, individuals, or teams will have access to the app. The same set of people you identified in the planning phase of your project should be granted access to your app.
Step 2: Divide the list of users you identified in Step 1 into groups based on what type of information they can access
Step 3: Identify the requirements for who will access the records.
Step 4: If you’re using non-Dataverse data sources, ensure that the correct authentication methods are set up on those other systems. Log in to each system and contact the administrators if you need help.
Step 5: Based on the steps above, you should consider how these different teams will be managed. Security groups are recommended.
