First Look at Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Center

Microsoft announced today a new product launching on April 2nd called Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Center. It is a cloud-based solution largely inspired by Microsoft Dynamics NAV (also called Navision). It is meant for small and medium businesses which do not need the extensive functionalities of the enterprise versions of Microsoft Dynamics. Here is an overview from what we know so far.

Business Center & Outlook

Like Microsoft Dynamics 365 App for Outlook, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Center will be linked with the leading email solution. Users will be able to respond to customer inquiries directly in Microsoft Outlook and have the data synchronizing to Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Sales Module

This version of Microsoft Dynamics 365 will allow limited analytics and prioritize leads based on revenue potential and up-sell opportunities. It seems to appear that from the first pictures released, the sales module will also include some customer service capabilities, including service tasks, workloads and assignment of cases based on queues.

The Best Feature of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Center

If you carefully noticed at the bottom of the page, there is a picture of the home screen on a tablet. There is an entire tab named Approvals. Microsoft has not released details about this feature yet, but I really hope native click-based approval workflows are finally coming to Microsoft Dynamics and will soon be implemented in the enterprise versions. It is something that the community has been asking for years and many end-users I work with on a daily basis would really appreciate this feature.
