Great post and content.   I am needing to better understand how USD can behave in an environment requiring login to external apps .   What does an SSO strategy/approach look like?   Is there a way to maintain session with UII Hosted web apps and the USD client?

The MSDN link mentioned in this post points to articles that are no longer available. This is because most of the configuration and customization topics were moved from the Unified Service Desk Administration Guide to the new Unified Service Desk Guide.

You can find the new Unified Service Desk Developer Guide at msdn.microsoft.com/.../dn864996.aspx.

The walkthroughs mentioned in this post are now available at msdn.microsoft.com/.../dn864996.aspx.
