Dynamix Tip: Generate number sequence

Hello there D.M.-azing D365 Community!

Here’s some quick Dynamix Tip to have in mind when setting up Financial Dimension.

When working on a newly created legal entity, probably one of the setup we would want to consider to have are the number sequences to continue with the work and recording of the transactions when everything has been setup.

For us to generate the number sequences available out of the box in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, we can just simply follow these easy steps.

  1. Navigate Organization administration module > Number sequences > Number sequences.

2. On Number sequence action pane > New group > click Generate button. A number sequence wizard will be displayed.

3. Click Next button. The page for all number sequence available on every module will display. You have the option the Delete or Remove those you thing will not be necessary for the business process. But as a practice, everything is selected – in this way we will not be missing anything.

4. Click for the Next button and it will lead us on the Setup section. Then click Finish.

And here is the result.

Before we ran the Number sequence wizard, no Number sequence is available.

After running the Number sequence wizard, since we just selected everything to be populated – now, all number sequence will be supplied to each reference.
