In the last blog, we saw what is the importance of Auditing & how to enable audits on the organization level. Let us now see how to do it on the field level.
Note: You need to enable Global level audit to see the changes on the field level data.
Before we proceed, it is advisable to keep your entity in a solution. It would be easy to promote changes in other environments.
In UCI, Navigate to Settings> Advanced Settings
Else Settings> Customization> Solutions

Open your solution & navigate to the entity

Go to the General section of the entity where the entity name is mentioned.
Scroll down to ‘Data Services’ section & enable Auditing

As you can see in the screenshot, it will enable auditing for all fields by default. Re-iterating to enable auditing on only those fields where required to avoid performance issues like time out while checking Audit History.
To disable auditing on fields, navigate to the fields section.
Open the field you need to disable audit on. Update the Auditing to ‘Disable’ & save. Publish customization, now you are ready to rock & roll!

Under auditing coming up next is Single record auditing & multiple record auditing.
