Friday Funny: Americans Don’t Understand English – The Jonathan Ross Show

The topic of today’s Friday Funny is something that I have always noticed when I visit the USA. I try not to comment anymore on the various differences in language as it is too late to change anything now.

I believe it was George Bernard Shaw who said “England and America are two countries separated by the same language.”.

In the video below, English comedian Michael McIntyre explains how Americans feel the need to simplify English words to the extreme.

Just remember, in the same way that I did not get a fizzy lemon flavoured soft drink when I asked for lemonade, if you ask for an entrée sized Spaghetti Marinara outside of the USA, you will receive a small serve of seafood pasta.
