How to Change your Microsoft CRM Online Friendly and URL name

There were a few occurrences in the past that some Microsoft CRM clients asked me if they can change their CRM Online Display Name and/or URL that they had setup during the 30 Day Trial.  Most often, they would prefer a shorter name vs. their full company name with the Inc., Company, etc. that they had entered in during Trial setup.  This was not an easy task and involved creating a brand new trial environment in the past.

The good news is that with the latest Office 365 Portal – it is super easy to update the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online Display Name and/or URL name.  Here is how:

• Login to the Office 365 Admin Center with a Office 365 Administrator account
• Click on “service settings”, then click on “dynamics crm” and then click on “Manage Dynamics CRM settings”:

• Select the instance (only if you have more than one) and click on the “Edit Settings” button

• Here is where you can update your CRM Online’s Friendly name and/or URL name.
