Hello there D.M.-azing D365 Community!

Ever wondered as to the largest alphanumeric value that we can assign when creating a Number sequence in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations?

In this article, let me share this bit of knowledge that our team was able to explore about Number sequence.

When ask, most of us would probably say that the largest alphanumeric value that we can use for a Number sequence is 999999999. As whenever we create a new number sequence, Dynamics 365 F&O automatically assigns ######### (‘#’ signifies incrementing numbers and ‘&’ for incrementing letters) on Segments fast tab or 999999999 as the largest value under General fast tab.

But in reality, the largest alphanumeric value that we can assign on our number sequence is ######### or 2147483647.

Knowing the largest alphanumeric value that we can assign on number sequence could be important and helpful when we are implementing on companies with high volume of transactions.

I hope that you find this article as a helpful tool for you to better appreciate and understand, everything and anything, about Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations.

It will truly be a privilege if you will allow me to know your thoughts and suggestions for me to further improve the coming featured articles on our blog. ‘Til next article!
