Hello there D.M.-azing D365 Community!

We are heading on another week and on another article for Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations to read and share.

For this article, we will explore and unbox on how to configure the Format mapping which is necessary for us to generate a Fixed asset roll forward report in D365 F&O.

Have you tried generating a Fixed asset roll forward report in D365 F&O and keep on receiving the warning message: Field format mapping must be field in and yet don’t have the idea on how to resolve it?

Well here’s the quick and easy steps to have an available format mapping and to generate a Fixed asset roll forward.

a. Navigate Workspaces > Electronic reporting. Under Configuration providers list, select Microsoft and click Repositories.

b. On configuration repositories page for Microsoft, select LCS and click the Open button.

Note: To access LCS configuration repositories the user has to log in into Lifecycle services.

In any case that LCS is not available in the list then click Add select LCS and Create repository.

c. Once LCS configuration repository is open, the list electronic reports will be available. Look for Fixed assets model and select Fixed asset roll forward.

d. Under Versions section, select the latest available version then click Import button and click Yes.

e. Try generating Fixed asset roll forward and this time you should have available Format mapping.

And this will be the result of the format mapping configuration.

That’s all for now. I hope that you find this article as a helpful tool for you to better appreciate and understand, everything and anything, about Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations.

It will truly be a privilege if you will allow me to know your thoughts and suggestions for me to further improve the coming featured articles on our blog.
