Work Order in Dynamics 365 Field Service is an important entity which defines all the related information of work which needs to be done at the customer location. The Work Order is used to coordinate and schedule the resource / technician.

A Work Order can be created in different ways like from Case, Opportunity Manually and Agreements. In this blog article we will see how we can create and manage Work Order in Dynamics 365 Field Service.

    1. Create Work Order Manually.
      1. Navigate to the Field Service -> Service -> Work Orders.
      2. Click on the “New” to create the Work Order manually (refer Fig. 1).

      1. A pop up will appear when the Work Order is created successfully (refer Fig. 7).

    1. Create Work Order from an Opportunity
      1. Open any existing Opportunity record or open any existing Lead record and then convert it to an Opportunity (refer Fig. 9).

(Fig. 9)

      1. Please make sure, the user selects the “Work Order Type” on the Opportunity record (refer Fig. 10).

(Fig. 10)
