Data Import Templates

There are many times we had to download a template for data import activity to our Dynamics 365 organization. Let us see how quickly without less navigation you can download templates from one place directly for any entity you need.

Navigate to Settings > Data Management > Templates for Data Import

You will see that it lists all the entities including custom entities present in the system. Select the entity you need & click on the ‘Download’ button.

Another way you can perform the same action is by navigating to that entity & click on Excel templates. You should see something like below.

If I click on Download template, it will ask me to select the view for the template.

Note – The difference in both methods is you will have all columns included in method one whereas the second one will only download template based on the view you have selected
