I came across this error after creating a new blank database on Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 W1 Version.

It shows that there is no NAV Server Instance available for the database created, therefore i figure out that you should do the following to ensure the connection is appropriate.
1- Go to Development Environment > Select Database
2- Click from top menu file > Database > Database Information

The field “Server Instance” in the database information window must be filled in with the NAV Server Instance name, as it is populate automatically, Therefore you have to check first the NAV Server Instance from Administration.
3- By going to Dynamics NAV 2017 Administration, check the following is filled with the appropriate data:
- Database Name
- Database Instance

After restart the service, you can then return to the first step to ensure the that field populate automatically the NAV Server Instance.
