SCRIBE Online is a massive tool that can be intimidating the first time you work with it.  Luckily SCRIBE provides a lot of documentation and training to help you get started with your first go with SCRIBE Online.  When I first started working with SCRIBE Online it was in what they call the "Classic UI".  The latest version of SCRIBE is called "Crystal UI"  I will say that there where a lot of changes between classic and crystal that took me a little bit to grasp.  But, SCRIBE does a great job putting out content to help new users and even experienced users keep up to date with the platform.

In this post I wanted to go over some of the resources that SCRIBE offers to everyone for free.  This way you can get started with your first mapping or refresh your knowledge of SCRIBE Online.  First, we will talk about their webinars.  SCRIBE does regular webinars about its platform.  Past webinars can be found here.

Next, SCRIBE provides excellent video tutorials for SCRIBE Online. As of me writing this post here are list of videos with a small description of each:

  1. Crystal vs Classic UI - A Comparison.  This is a comparison of the classic UI to the Crystal UI.  I recommend this if you are familiar with the classic UI, but haven't worked in the Crystal UI yet.  If you are completely new to SCRIBE Online, you can skip this video.
  2. Introduction to Scribe Online.  As the title states this is an intro to SCRIBE Online platform and is good for people just getting into SCRIBE.
  3. Scribe Online Agent and its Setup.  This video goes over the agents, what they do and how to install them.
  4. Scribe Online Replication Service (RS).  Video that reviews Scribe's replication service.  Includes building solutions for creating and scheduling replications.
  5. Scribe Online Integration Service (IS). Video that reviews Scribe's integration service.  Includes building solutions and mappings for integrations.
  6. Scribe Online Event Maps.  Video that reviews Event driven mappings.  Also goes over how to set these mappings up.
If you need further help with SCRIBE Online please use the community forums to ask questions and search for answers.  Also, don't forget that you can sign up for a free trial to give SCRIBE a go.  Here is how you sign up for your free trial:
  1. Go to this link.
  2. Towards the middle of the page click on "Register For A Free Trial>".  Wait for the new page to load.  For me, this took about 2 minutes to complete.
  3. When the page loads fill in the form.  I recommend checking the check box to get updates.  Don't worry, SCRIBE won't spam you with information, like some companies do.  They will send you only needed information and updates.
