What is Finance Insights?

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance Insights, coming to preview in May, accelerates digital transformation by bringing the power of AI and automation into finance processes. What functionality is included in Finance Insights?

A brief overview of functionality in Finance insights:

- Customer payment predictions: Organizations often find it challenging to predict when a customer will pay their invoices. This lack of insight leads to less accurate cash flow forecasts, collections processes are started too late, and orders released to customers who may default on their payment. Customer payment insights (preview) enable organizations to predict when an invoice will be paid and helps organizations to create strategies to improve the probability of being paid on time. Customer payment insights (preview) uses machine learning to predict when a customer will pay an invoice. It learns from historical invoices, payments and customer data and then creates a machine learning model which is used to predict when an invoice will be paid by a customer.

- Intelligent cash flow forecasting: Cash flow forecasting is very important for a business, if a business runs out of cash and is not able to get new finance, it will become insolvent. Even if a company is profitable, if they do not have a good cash flow, they will not be able to remain profitable for long. Hence it is an imperative that companies keep their cashflow in order. Intelligent cash flow forecasting will enable automatic integration of data relevant to cash flow from external systems and reports, eliminating data silos. The use of time-series forecasting and customer payment predictions will improve overall cash flow accuracy. The ability to save cash flow forecasts and compare against actual financial results will enable you to measure forecast performance and prepare accurate forecasts in the future.

- Intelligent budget proposal: Organizations spend a large amount of time in preparing their budgets. Much of the time spent is preparing the view of history and then preparing the budget or forecast using history as an input. Budget proposals helps to alleviate much of this work by providing a streamlined mechanism to prepare multiple years of history, analyze the data, and provide a prediction on what the budget or forecast should look like based on what has happened over time.

- Public preview: May 2020

- GA: October 2020

When will I be able to try/demo Finance Insights?

- Post public preview in May.

How will Finance Insight be packaged and priced?

- Finance Insights features will be embedded in Dynamics 365 for Finance.

- Pricing will be available closer to GA.
