Securing your Model Driven PowerApps in Dynamics 365 and hiding the Default Web Interface

razdynamics Profile Picture razdynamics 17,308 User Group Leader

Dynamics 365 tradionally uses security roles to control access to the objects within an instance, and Office 365 Security Groups helps to control access to an instance. With the new PowerApps experience users will initially see many of the apps that come prebundled with Dynamics, how do you control who has access to these?

Admins should have the privilege of clickin on the App to apply Manage Security, however this was not visible in the Dynamics 365 Apps Dashboard https://home.dynamics.com

Where is the manage roles tab? The solution is to navigate to the instance url, in our example below, and Append with /Apps

Now you can secure you Apps based on security roles!

You may also be wondering how to block access to the default Dynamics 365WebApp for your main url which many of you users would traditionally use to access the Dynamics application,  this can be achieved by the disabling via Administration/ Settings/
