Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations – Regression Suite Automation

You may have heard Microsoft wants all their customers to be on the same base version of the Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations application (dubbed One Version).  Part of this plan is to provide monthly releases, including new product features and Platform and Application fixes/updates.  One of the barriers for typical ERP customers staying up-to-date on the latest version of the software and fixes, is the need to do extensive testing, ensuring issues are not introduced into the Production environment. This is a key deliverable from Microsoft to automate monthly update in line with Microsoft “Evergreen” ERP vision and continuous updates strategy.

Microsoft has not only tried to diminish this burden but has attempted to eliminate it.  The Regression Suite Automation Tool allows customers to define what processes to include in automated testing, utilizing existing* Business Process Model (BPM) task recordings, to automatically validate processes performed in D365FO.
