No One Man Should Have All That Power! #reporting #MSDyn365 #globalization #localization #Microsoft #msbizapps

More feedback from the community following MS Business Applications Summit has me struggling to keep up with all of the great content. Today, I finally got around to watching the presentation on Globalization, which featured some great news on upcoming features for report generation and maintenance in D365F&O. First though, some general content on current support for Globalization and Localization shared a great slide of ISV and partner apps that can be found on AppSource.

Apps

With the help of Partners and 3rd party applications, we should not need to worry that Microsoft cannot keep up with the pace of change throughout the world. On the roadmap is the increased regulatory and local coverages, as well as the fun stuff for us super geeks, system admins, and SMEs… Electronic reporting enhancements and Configurable business documents!!Global reports

We all know reporting can be the bane of projects as everyone wants their own format, whether it be internal disagreements, vendor requirements, customer requirements, or changes in government and regulation. This makes an ever-changing design and can lead to wasted time and money spent customizing, re-customizing, or buying third party apps so someone or multiple people can maintain all of these changes and designs.

This new feature should help bring that expertise directly ti your partner, your system admin, or someone on your project team. With the ability to configure business documents within D365F&O, super users can take on this task just like when Document routing barcodes became available in Warehouse management. This is a huge win for a majority of companies using D365. And I’m sure more documents will be added to the list that is already being considered when this feature is rolled out later this year/early next year.
