Friday Funny: 6 The Hard Way

Here is another numeric challenge from the internet to keep you thinking. This one does involve mathematics unlike the previous Friday Funny: Impossible Numeric Puzzles post.

This one should have the gears spinning as you work out the solutions.

The puzzle is called “6 The Hard Way” and involves you creating mathematical equations that will make three digits (from 0 to 9) equal 6.

Here are the rules:

• You cannot draw a number.
• To get to 6, all you can use are mathematical symbols – as long as they don’t include a number.
• You can solve the equations in any order.

To get you started, I will give you one of the solutions:

6 + 6 – 6 = 6

Respond in the comments how you went, but don’t give away any answers.

Hint: The solution to the 8’s equation is the hardest and needs all the techniques you would have worked out to solve the other equations, so do that one last.
