How to prevent Dynamics GP users from posting General Journal entries to control account

Ever wonder how to prevent users from posting General Journal entries to your control account? To do so, you can unmark the Allow Account Entry option on the Microsoft Dynamics GP Account Maintenance Card.   This will help keep the Sub Ledgers and General Ledger in balance and minimize reconciliation time!

1. Go Cards > Financial > Account
2. Select one of your control accounts (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, Cash)
3. Un-mark the Allow Account Entry Checkbox
4. Users will receive a message that the selected account does not allow account entry if they try to use this account in a General Journal Entry or any distribution window.
