Line Properties Reference Guide

Before running project accounting transactions in Microsoft Dynamics AX — it is important to understand how line properties work with project types. While the project type that you specify in the project group will determine invoicing, transaction types posting, and the cost and revenue recognition. The line property controls whether any of the following occur depending on the project type:
- If an additional cost percentage is applied to the transaction.
- If an additional sales percentage is applied to the transaction.
- If a transaction with this line property is chargeable to a customer.
- If the sales value of a transaction is accrued at the time it is posted.
- If the cost is capitalized to balance accounts when transactions with this line property are posted.
The following diagram shows how the line property might be setup according to the project type.
