BIDA0059 – BIDA Multi Level Data Model Example in PowerBI

Peter Jones - BIDA Profile Picture Peter Jones - BIDA 151
In this blog post we give you an actual example report of how it is possible to navigate multi level summary data models in Power BI. These multi level data models in relational databases were first invented by Ralph Kimball in the early 80s. They provided the most efficient way to query data models in relational databases. The fundamental ideas have been implemented into thousands of companies. Most notably MicroStrategy have standardized on a variation of these multi level data models. This is one reason why MicroStrategy scales so well. Now we have proven Power BI can take advantage of the same data modeling techniques and we are giving you a free working Power BI report. We hope you like the report.
