Who is using the Power BI dashboards in D365 Finance and Supply Chain?
In D365 Finance and Supply Chain Management, there are many Workspaces that also sometimes include embedded Power BI dashboards and reports. You may even be aware that you can embed custom BI reports and dashboards into these Workspaces. However, have you ever looked within the modules to find the BI dashboards and reports that Microsoft is pushing out all across the software? For example, Production performance Power BI content was introduced in 2017 and offers some great insight into manufacturing if you know where to find it.
If we start to navigate away form the Workspaces, and start to investigate what content is being listed as menus within the functional modules, we get a whole load of great data. Production Performance can be accessed via Inquiries and Reports in the Production Control module under the Production performance analysis submenu. For those who need to monitor the material, labor, and capacities of their work cells, this content can be a great tool:

I just recently started diving into Power BI to see how we can bridge the gap between functional requirements and technical report writers by delving into the KPIs required and finding data that can help companies actually improve their processes and businesses and not just offer data in the same format you have always used without looking for improvements. Having the skillset to both properly define a meaningful measure to use and then also being able to design a report or form that displays that in a powerful way is not something that everyone can do. I’d love to hear from users to see if these dashboards are being used, if people did not even know they existed, or if they are creating their own.
