How Real Companies are Using Dynamics 365

On-site ERP systems simply can’t keep up with changing business practices and emerging technology. Despite the tight security and control that make these systems comfortable to many, on-premise systems are rigid, expensive, and require significant maintenance by your IT teams.

In today’s business world, the ability to collaborate in real-time on data is essential. Everyone, regardless of their technical skill or department, must be able to access and collaborate on data. That’s why many are turning to the cloud. The scalability, flexibility, and agility of cloud-based ERP systems make it easy to keep up with innovation and changing business goals.

As the only cloud-based ERP and CRM system available, Microsoft Dynamics 365 brings the tools and capabilities within these systems onto a single platform. These unified features are turned into applications that work seamlessly across your entire organization—from sales and marketing to financials and operations.

Below, we’ll review how seven companies utilized the digital tools within Dynamics 365 to empower decision-making, increase productivity, and streamline processes.

Company A Increases Customer Satisfaction by Updating Groupware

A mid-sized manufacturer was using a 15-year-old groupware system as a collaboration tool. However, the system was rigid, inflexible, and, not surprisingly, outdated; additionally, communicating with their international partners was nearly impossible. Executives knew it was time for a much-needed change. One stated: “We needed new groupware that allowed us to work regardless of time and place and actively communicate with our partners and customers not only in-house but around the world.”

Business leaders were specifically searching for a system that enabled them to create and collaborate on documents with more than 500 users both in company headquarters, and their international offices.

Not only did Dynamics 365 meet this need, but Company A was also able to create mobile offices. Ultimately, the company saw higher levels of productivity and communication, reduced costs, and an increase in business growth.

Customer Complaints Around Popular Email System Resolved

A small-sized clothing company was struggling with a large number of user complaints around its email service. The system experienced a number of disruptions that interrupted production, delivery processes, and customer service. Additionally, accessing the system from locations overseas, such as Hong Kong and the United States, was virtually impossible.

To resolve these issues, Company B turned to Dynamics 365. Using the solution’s email system, users across teams enjoyed the same high-quality service. The company was also able to reduce the workload of corporate members and customer service teams by expanding their email ability from 200MB to 50GB.

Nautical Company Enjoys Seamless Collaboration

When a nautical manufacturer’s groupware system suffered from multiple text breaks when sending messages to overseas buyers, they turned to Office 365. With the solution in place, users could share Excel documents with materials, sales, and workforce management teams and collaborate in real-time.

Essentially, this enabled Company C to provide users with real-time views of incoming and outgoing materials as well as production schedules. Their overseas offices were also integrated into this new system, allowing foreign users to enjoy the same benefits.

“We’ve created a department-specific folder within Office 365,” one representative said. “Here, we’re posting documents such as business logs, sales status, client status, and progress rate. Executives are referring to this [folder] and making important decisions.”

Company D Experiences 200% Rise in Productivity

A personal safety product manufacturer needed a solution that could provide insight into overall business performance and condition in real-time. Moreover, they were looking for a solution that could provide faster access to manufacturing and sales data in order to decrease decision-making time.

With Dynamics 365’s shared folders, Company D could view and share crucial data in real-time, enabling them to make faster, data-informed decisions. Additionally, the company’s research and development processes were standardized, meaning executives could analyze business performance based on key indicators. This ultimately resulted in lower operating costs and a 200% productivity increase per member.

Health Supplement Company Standardizes Processes

Rapid changes in the health industry and workplace fluctuations caused a health supplement company to realize they needed a more integrated solution. A primary goal for their new solution was the ability to standardize development and research processes for both internal and external teams.

With Dynamics 365, processes such as enrichment, extraction, ordering, and quality control were all standardized; materials like certificates, test papers, patents, documents, and experimental reports were each easily managed within Microsoft One Note.

“Through Office 365, we were able to meet both demands, including those who wanted to draft articles on PCs and those who wanted to author articles online,” one executive said. “We also used real-time document modifications to speed up the editorial inspections, and it’s much easier for reporters and desks to write articles together.”

IT Workloads in Game Development Company Reduced

Company E’s IT department was overwhelmed with support tickets and IT issues. This increasing workload was primarily due to rapid growth within the company. Executives now needed a solution designed for mid-sized companies to decrease some of this workload.

Using Dynamics 365’s Active Directory, a personal database was created where users could create, share, and edit documents that resolved common IT issues. Additionally IT administrators could focus on resolving more complex issues or focus on more important tasks. Due to security features such as user authentication, information and data was kept completely secure.

Game Developer Increases System Security

To improve the security around their technology stack, Company F created their own application that carefully inspects email and file attachments prior to their sending. Additionally, this app rigorously monitors security vulnerabilities from incoming external emails to ensure no viruses or malware enter their network.

Despite the functionality of this in-house application, it could not smoothly respond to Zero-Day Attack, a virus designed to find and infiltrate security vulnerabilities. To safeguard sensitive company data, executives implemented Dynamics 365. The solution provides multi-tier security, ensuring that all existing email servers are secure. With these robust security tools, Company F saw a dramatic decrease in spam mail, a near elimination of malicious code inflow, and a significant decrease in the amount of email-related IT tickets.
