Export to Excel vs Open in Excel in the new Dynamics AX.

If you are starting to work with the new Dynamics AX there are some nice updates to the Excel integration. You still have the basic export to excel download which is just a basic export of the data but you also have the office app add-in to Excel which replaces the add-in that was there in AX2012. The new add-in has a smarter experience compared to the old add-in. Here is a quick overview of how to access the two capabilities, we’ll have a look at some of the features like updating records in a follow-up post.
