D365 applying application hotfix

In a previous post we had a look at applying an binary hotfix to D365. At some point you will likely also need to apply application updates. The process has a few month steps in it compared to the binary updates because you may have customization or ISV solutions you will need to reconcile and test with.

As well in a production environment you will likely take the hotfix into your source control and produce a application build for testing before deploying. In this example I’ll skip the source control and just deploy a simple hotfix to go through the basic process. This is fine if you are using the demo VM’s and want to be able to try out a application hotfix in one of those environments.
