Excel Integration with D365FO - Configuration

In day-to-day operations, it is a common practice to import or export data to excel spreadsheet from/to D365FO such that we can generate different kinds of excel reports with the help of macros, lookups, and formulae supported in excel. But it is not easy often to make use of data projects to do this task and thus Excel Data connector Add-in helps us in this regard. This post deals with the setup and configuration of Excel Data connector Add-in with D365FO.
Step 1: Pick an excel where we intended to configure the data connector Add-in. I am interested in export of customer group data. Open the excel document, click on Insert tab and select the option My Add-ins.
Step2: Office Add-ins window gets opened, click on the STORE tab and check for Microsoft Dynamics Office Add-in. Click on Add button.
Step3: Excel data connector add-in window appears to the right, click on "Add server information" in the window.
Step4: Provide the AOS URL in the Server URL(colored in Red) and click OK.
Step 5: Sometimes, a message appears for the app to reload click Yes
Step 6: Click on Sign in and provide the credentials.
Step 7: Thus, we are able to configure the excel data connector Add-in and its ready for data import and export from D365FO.
